Frequently asked questions.

When should I reach out to book my newborn session?

As soon as you hit your second trimester! I take on a limited amount of newborn sessions per month due to the unpredictable timing of these sessions, this helps ensure there will be space available for you whether your little one arrives early, late or right on time.

Where are newborn sessions held and in what time frame?

Within the first 7-14 days of birth and from the comfort of your own home! You may choose to add a studio rental to your session for an additional fee.

Are all homes suitable for a photography session?

I truly wish I could say yes here but unfortunately the answer is no. The most important thing we need for shooting in home is good natural light, followed by good space. Bright, neutral, open spaces typically photograph better than darker, smaller ones to keep in line with type of aesthetic you see featured throughout my work. That being said, having colourful walls and decor that showcases your personality is always amazing to photograph as long as we have an abundance of natural light to illuminate it. If you find your home doesn’t receive enough natural sun light, it is best to discuss adding on a studio to your session to ensure you receive images that exceed your expectations.

What should we wear?

Find my styling guide here with access to my client wardrobe for ladies! I am always available to discuss your wardrobe with you ahead of your session.

What time of day do you shoot at?

I always recommend shooting within the first two hours of sunrise (best for young kiddos) and the last two hours before sunset. This is when the sun is at its softest, produces the most pleasing tones and eliminates the chance of any harsh shadows that you would get midday. Although we can shoot outside of these hours, I will dissuade my clients from shooting between the hours of 10:00am-4:00pm during the summer months if possible. For in-home sessions, midday is always best.
